Oakmans Charity Campaign 2026: An Inspiring £6,500 Milestone in 6 Months

By Oakmans Updated:

The Oakmans charity campaign 2026 has officially reached its six-month milestone, with £6,500 donated to 26 charities and community organisations during the first half of the year.

Back in January, we made a simple commitment: to donate £250 every week throughout 2026 to a different charity, community group or worthwhile cause.

Twenty-six weeks later, we’re halfway there.

Know a Charity That Deserves Support?

Recommend a local charity, community group or cause for our £250 weekly donation and help us support more brilliant work across our communities.

Along the way, we’ve had the opportunity to meet some brilliant people and learn more about organisations supporting communities across Birmingham, Redditch, Bromsgrove and the surrounding areas.

From mental health and hospice care to homelessness, community projects, arts, family support and animal welfare, every week has introduced us to a different cause and another group of people working hard to help others.

Six Months, 26 Donations and £6,500 Given Back

When we launched the Oakmans charity campaign 2026 at the start of the year, we wanted charitable giving to become a consistent part of the year rather than something limited to one or two occasions.

So we committed to donating £250 every week for 52 weeks.

At the six-month point, that means:

26 weeks. 26 organisations. £6,500 donated.

And with another 26 weekly donations still to come, the campaign remains on track to see £13,000 donated by the end of 2026.

Reaching £6,500 is something we’re incredibly pleased to celebrate, but the campaign has always been about more than the total alone.

Every week gives us another opportunity to learn about a charity, meet the people involved and help bring a little more attention to the work taking place throughout our local communities.

Supporting Charities Across Our Communities

One of the things we’ve enjoyed most about the campaign is seeing just how varied the organisations working across our communities really are.

During the first six months, we’ve supported Birmingham Mind, which provides mental health services across the city, alongside St Basils, an organisation supporting young people in Birmingham and the wider region.

We’ve visited Redditch Food Bank, supported Birmingham Hospice, and donated to Birmingham Solihull Women’s Aid, which provides support to women and children affected by domestic violence and abuse.

Animal welfare has been represented too, with donations to organisations including Birmingham Dogs Home and Blue Cross. Birmingham Dogs Home works with homeless and vulnerable dogs across the West Midlands, while Blue Cross operates its West Midlands rehoming centre in Bromsgrove.

We’ve also supported arts organisations, neighbourhood projects, children’s charities, heritage groups and smaller community-led causes.

The organisations may all do very different things, but each donation has introduced us to people putting their time, experience and energy into making a difference.

Our First 26 Charities of the Week

The first half of the Oakmans charity campaign 2026 has introduced us to organisations working across an incredibly broad range of causes. From our first donation in January through to Week 26, every recipient has represented a different part of the community.

Over the first six months, we’ve supported organisations working across mental health, hospice care, homelessness, food support, community development, arts, family services and animal welfare.

What has made the campaign particularly rewarding is being able to meet the people behind these organisations and learn more about the work they do.

Alongside the organisations highlighted earlier, we’ve been proud to support Northfield Community Partnership, Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer, Little Hearts Matter, Crackerjacks, Moor Pool Heritage Trust, The Animal House Rescue, Acorns Children’s Hospice, Karis Neighbourhood Scheme, Cysters Group, the Matt Gallagher Foundation, Primrose Hospice, BRIG, LoveBrum, Headway Birmingham & Solihull, Redditch Nightstop, Ladywood Community Project, Northfield Arts Forum and Libby Mae’s Little Angels.

That means all 26 organisations have now played a part in the first half of the campaign.

More Than a Weekly Donation

From the beginning, the Oakmans charity campaign 2026 was designed to provide more than financial support alone. The £250 donation is an important part of the campaign, but we’ve always wanted Charity of the Week to do something else too. Help more people discover the organisations working around them.

Some of the charities we’ve visited are well-known across Birmingham and the West Midlands. Others are smaller groups working within individual neighbourhoods or supporting very specific communities.

For us, both deserve recognition.

A weekly campaign gives us the opportunity to highlight something different every time.

One week might introduce our followers to a children’s charity; the next could focus on mental health, homelessness, community arts, animal welfare or a neighbourhood organisation.

It means the campaign isn’t centred around one type of cause. Instead, it provides a snapshot of the many different organisations working every day to support people across the region.

And the photographs from each weekly donation have become an important part of that story.

Behind every £250 sign is a team, volunteer, supporter or community working towards something much bigger.

Giving Back to the Communities We Work In

The Oakmans charity campaign 2026 has also given our teams the opportunity to learn more about organisations working in the communities we serve. Community has always been closely connected to what we do at Oakmans.

Our teams work with buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, homeowners and students across Birmingham and the surrounding areas every day.

With branches covering Selly Oak, Harborne, Northfield, Shirley, Redditch and Bromsgrove, our work takes us into a wide range of different communities. That wider presence was one of the reasons we wanted the campaign to support organisations across different locations and causes.

The first six months have taken us from local neighbourhood projects and food support to hospices, mental health services, arts groups and animal charities.

It’s also introduced us to organisations we might not otherwise have encountered.

That has been one of the most rewarding aspects of the campaign: discovering just how much work is happening locally, often behind the scenes.

Halfway Through – With Another 26 Donations to Come

Six months down, six months to go.

Reaching £6,500 donated marks the halfway point of the Oakmans charity campaign 2026, but it certainly isn’t the end of it.

Our commitment remains the same.

We’ll continue donating £250 every week, with another 26 organisations set to receive support during the second half of the year.

By the end of Week 52, that will bring our total commitment for 2026 to £13,000.

There are still plenty of charities and community groups for us to discover, and we’re looking forward to meeting many more of the people behind them.

We’d also like to say thank you to everyone who has nominated an organisation, shared one of our weekly charity posts or introduced us to a cause during the first half of the campaign.

And, most importantly, thank you to the charities, staff and volunteers who have welcomed us over the past six months.

Nominate a Charity for Oakmans to Support

With another 26 weekly donations still to come, we’re continuing to look for charities and community organisations doing important work across the areas we serve.

If there’s a charity close to your heart, a local organisation you volunteer with or a community group you believe deserves more recognition, we’d love to hear about them.

Keep an eye on the Oakmans social media channels and send us your nomination for a future Charity of the Week.

We can’t wait to see what the next six months bring.
