Little Princess Trust: How Oakmans Is Proud to Support an Incredible Cause
Supporting the Little Princess Trust became particularly meaningful to us at Oakmans when one of our own team members decided to make a very personal contribution to the charity.
Jess, from our Property Management team, donated an incredible 16 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust. Inspired by her generosity, Oakmans also donated £1,000 to support the charity and the important work it carries out for children and young people.
It was a wonderful example of how one person’s decision to help can inspire others to get involved.
Jess Donates 16 Inches of Hair to the Little Princess Trust
Donating hair is a significant commitment, and Jess chose to give an impressive 16 inches of hers to the Little Princess Trust. The charity uses suitable hair donations to help create real hair wigs for children and young people experiencing hair loss.
For Jess, it was a personal act of kindness. For the rest of us at Oakmans, it was also a reminder of how individual actions can encourage a much wider show of support. Her donation quickly inspired the wider team, and we wanted to do something more to support the charity alongside her.
Oakmans Donates £1,000 to Support the Charity
Following Jess’s hair donation, Oakmans made a £1,000 donation to the Little Princess Trust.
The charity relies on the generosity of supporters and fundraisers to continue its work, from providing real hair wigs to supporting research into childhood cancers. Our donation was a way to recognise Jess’s generosity while contributing to a cause doing important work for children, young people and their families.
What Does the Little Princess Trust Do?
The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment. It can also support young people experiencing hair loss because of other conditions.
But wigs are only one part of its work.
The charity also funds research into childhood cancers, with the aim of helping researchers develop kinder and more effective treatments.
This combination of immediate practical support and longer-term research is central to the Little Princess Trust’s mission. Hair donations such as Jess’s help the charity continue providing its wig service, while financial donations and fundraising help support its wider work.
